Breakthroughs for Business Research for Inner City Advisors, Oakland, California

In March of 2006, The Business Value Alliance launched a research project with a pilot study on businesses with revenues from $50,000 - $10,000,000 on behalf of Inner City Advisors, a nonprofit, in the Northern California cities between Richmond and Hayward with an emphasis on Oakland.

This research is designed to obtain new insights from segment specific information on the experience of business owners and identify how they break through barriers to business sustainability and growth. The research team completed the Breakthroughs for Business First Annual Report in May of 2007. The findings of the preliminary report led to the development of The Product Design Studio concept. The goal is to scale-up the project to four hundred participating businesses. The research becomes a long-term resource for developing more relevant and impactful programs and services to build owner capabilities for business performance improvement and growth.
